On 26 and 27 November 2026, the third International Conference on Culture & Mental Health will take place in Ghent, with a central focus on youth. The conference explores how culture and art can strengthen the mental health and resilience of young people, and is part of the celebration of 40 years of the Dr. Guislain Museum.

We invite researchers, professionals, and organizations to submit proposals around three key themes:

  • Health inequities: cultural and artistic projects that address inequalities and structural barriers.

  • Community: initiatives that foster social inclusion and community care.

  • Lived experience: projects in which young people themselves take an active and leading role.

Contributions should be in English and submitted as a paper, panel, or workshop (maximum 300 words).

Deadline: 15 March 2026
Accepted proposals receive a free full conference ticket (excluding travel and accommodation).

Submit via this form.
