Sofie Mullers' installation The Clean Room raises the question of how far we are willing to go in our pursuit of the perfect child, in a society where evolution, technology, and genetic manipulation play an increasingly prominent role.
The Clean Room was one of the thematic pavilions at the Malta Biennale 2024 and was exhibited at the National Museum of Archaeology in Valletta. Her work was awarded the Crystal Falcon, the prize for best pavilion.
The installation is now making its second stop at the Museum Dr. Guislain in Ghent.
